I was in the orchestra pit....Hey all,
I just wanted to say that I was sitting in with the drummer/percussionist for The Sound of Music at the Palladium on Saturday! Basically, I will be his Dep in the future, if he can't do a show or he is called into another production, then I will step in! I sat there with the score and I think I could sight read it which is cool! Some tricky timing issues where I would just have to trust my judgement and the conductor implicitly, but other than that, I think I could do it. I will probably have to sit in on another show before I take over though.
Also, just for the record, Connie sounded incredible!
