i was cast as Chava and have NO ballet experience!will i be ok?
im freaking out. this is one of my DREAM roles. and i want to do it right. I love the song and it would be pointless with out the dance

The ballet she has to do isn't intensive at all.
Just a few simple steps anyone could do really, at least in the productions I've seen. I don't even think you could call it "ballet" as much as ballet type movement in ONE song.

Watch Neva Small do it in the movie, she did it well.

Congrats on being cast as Chava! 
I too played Chava and I have zero dance experience outside of shows. They used a young girl to play "young" Chava for the dance.
When I played Tzeitel, all of the daughters and their suiters danced a waltz type of step.
Trust me most directors look at acting ability over dancing ability when casting Chava, you'll be fine

You'll be fine. Your choreographer will make it about what you can do, or learn to do. If you're a more trained dancer, it will be harder. If you're not, it will be simpler, but pretty.
They cast you for a reason. It will all work out! And, from one Chava to another, congrats!!!

Just to basically echo the above (lol)--yeah, I wouldn't worry about it. The director(s) knew of your abilities when they cast you, so it's very unlikely that they'll try to force you to do something that's too difficult for you. I'm sure everything will work out just fine. And congratulations!

yeah don't sweat it. i've seen the show many times..and my friend got cast as chava recently..and she by no means does ballet! it's mostly about the acting anyway! and break a leg. i'm sure you'll be great.

I had that problem too. I was cast as Chava last May and I haven't danced really since I was 9 so I had no espearnce. I just dislocated my left knee like three months before the show and before I was cast. I was fine and you should be too It's not bad, the dancing was easy.
Break a leg!
