I only just noticed...

Between the OLC and the 'New' Starlight Express recording, the introduction of the carriages has been lost. Ashley, Dinah, Buffy and Pearl no longer get their Lotta Locomotion song. Why the heck did that get cut? It could be random people singing without that song!
Belle

The OLC recording includes about 2/3 of the live show. There's loads missing.

The "new" London recording is meant as complimentary to the original, only basically including the songs that contained major re-writes, plus a couple more to fill in. It is in no way a complete reflection of even the major songs as performed live. Plus it's the cheapest studio recording out there... it all-round sucks!

Lotta Locomotion was ALWAYS in the London production.
Roller Boy

the us Tour had a boppy britney spears version that sucked pants.

Oh GOD. I really hate 'A Whole Lotta Locomotion'.

But, the 'Lotta Locomotion' on the Broadway Concept Recording confuses and frustrates me.
...
It's not supposed to be a solo!!!!! Evil or Very Mad
Mazz

The English language Concept album is very strange, and rather entertaining all round. Having heard what they did to the score and book on Broadway though, I think I'm glad there wasn't a proper recording of that production.

Sorry, I hadn't meant to imply it *wasn't* in the London production. It just seems bizarre to me that a song that while not plot-driven, but mostly character driven, has been neglected.

I understand what belle is saying. Lotta locomotion was not icluded on the new starlight disc because no changes were made to it.
