Im playing the piano in the pit for my school's broadway night. One of the songs that we are doing is take me or leave me, which should be good. The music I have is from the sheet music book. The problem is, this is basically the melody with chords. Now I want to play it like it's played in the show...basically the version from the OBC CD. The piano doesnt play the melody it mostly just plays chords and stuff and has some really cool things going on at parts that rock out (lol).

I mean if you listen to the CD you'll hear the cool piano stuff at some parts, and Id really like to play that, as I think it'd be fun/cool.

The thing is the only music i can find is the sheet music, which as I said is just the vocal part with some chord stuff, which arent even the same chords the piano actually plays


I thought maybe if I found a version from the score of the play it'd be in there but I cant find one, so what do I do? Any way to get my hands on the music for this?

The score is, for the most part, written fake book style with chord indications and the melody. There's not a lot given instrumentally. You just have to improvise fills and the like.

Sounded like the keys were holding the top register together, and you can then leave plenty of space underneath for your guitars and bass to play...

Your guitarist will want to play that stuttering line... and your bassist may want to start slapping under it...

Let your drummer and bassist and horns lead it..
