I need an audition song from RENT!I need an audition song from RENT. I'm a soprano but I feel most comfortable in the alto range. I'm auditioning for the Rocky Horror Show. What song would be good for me?

I'm technically an alto but i can hit pretty much all the soprano notes, expcept for the really high ones i dont know my range exactly but i would recomend,
Take Me Or Leave Me (MAureens parts if u want to make it a solo song)
There really are not a lot of solo full songs in RENT so it's kind of hard to recomend, but i think that one would be most comfortable

I'd personally recommend "Out Tonight". . you could really show a sexy side with it that would work well for RHS.

The 16-Bar Musical Theatre Audition (www.halleonard.com) Mezzo-soprano book has 16 bars of Take Me or Leave Me if you need an easy 16 bars. If you need a full I'd go with Out Tonight.

If you are a soprano, go with "Out Tonight". If you cant do a mezzo belt do "Take Me or LEave Me".

But if you do go for Take Me or Leave Me, BE SEXY. Or it will just not work. Auditions have a way of leeching the sexy right out of you.

There's also "Without You", though that probably wouldn't be a good audition piece for RHPS
