I need a poppy audition songI don't know what to sing that's not a joke, but I need a good poppy song to audition for like a contemporary Latin-y musical.
Any suggestions? Big issue: I'm a baritone... most male pop songs are for tenors. Any ideas??

can it be a pop song or does it have to a mt song that sounds like pop?

you can always transpose a tenor song into your range (those 'buy online sheet music' stuff)

Unworthy of Your Love is a pop-style song, and the male part is certainly baritone.

Ooh, good idea! Hum, it's Sondheim, though... :-S

Yeah, but it's a super simple accompaniment - and that's the only reason to avoid most Sondheim.

if i'm right (and I think I am) we're auditioning for the same show...august 8th in the city? i'm singing either landslide (fleetwood mac) or my favorite mistake (sheryl crow). if you want to sing from a musical i'd go with some a little less obvious, maybe in the middle of the room from a new brain, sugar (might be a little hard) or green green dress from tick tick boom, the steam train or the river won't flow from songs for a new world, or a miracle would happen from the last 5 years.
as far as non-mt songs (which I think would be better for this show) ...
Light in Your Eyes by Blessid Union of Souls
Meaning by Gavin DeGraw
Hey There Delilah by The Plain White T's (idk if this will be overdone since it's such a popular song right now)
anything by The Postal Service
Shine On by Ryan Cabrera
Meet Virginia by Train
hope that helps and maybe i'll see you there

I was totally gonna say "My Stronges Suit" until I saw baritone. I love that song. Used it for my Footloose audition. I miss Footloose...*sigh*

Is the music to Altar Boyz available yet? I don't know the show, but I do know a friend of mine played the Latino roll in it...so give that a go if it's around.
