I'm a Musician, needs some help.Hi there,I'm am brand new to this board and I am from Australia. I am not sure who can help me out, but I am looking at moving to the UK for at least 4 years very soon. I am a classically trained Trombonist and a brass teacher. I really enjoy working on musicals and would really like to have a crack at the big time in London, however I am unsure of any good resources to get started with planning. So far I can find plenty of resources for actors/singers looking to audition but nothing for orchestra musicians. I am also keen to work with musical direction as i already conduct an array of Jazz and classical groups and love this as well. Any help on ideas/websites/contacts would be greatly appreciated! Thanks guys... |

keep an eye on 'the stage' would be a good move...plus writing to some westend theatres explaing yor trying to find contact informtion...they should be able to give you an email address or a written address...if all else fails...come to the UK anyway and go to stage doors and things like that with CD's of your work and give them to people. i know none of that really helps...but i dont know much about getting into music work...i'll ask my friend when i see him...he'll have more information than me. |

Hey, thanks for the info. It is actually a great help. I found 'the stage' just after posting this, although there still isn't much there. I guess it is fairly hard to make any kind of contact without actually being there. |
