I just need some opinions please!

I'm sending off my head shot for the showcase tomorrow, but I can't decide which!
I've narrowed it down to two...one conventional and one not so. I've spent so long looking at pictures of myself (something I really don't enjoy) that everything about my face just looks all warped...I'm hoping the time difference will mean I'll have a few opinions a by the time I check this tomorrow! Razz
I never leave things to the last minute me... d'oh!

I think that #2 is a little bit too close. I'm voting #1. Smile

By the way, you are gorgeous.
If I were a girl, I would wanna look like you. Wink

Thanks for your help (and kind comments!) - have just sent number 1 off with the biog they asked me to write, so hopefully all is well! Mr. Green

I like no1 as a photo but not as a head shot, your eyes are covered and the lighting, to be frank, is shite. [sorry] I also think its taken from just a tad too high.

I don't like the framing of no2 as much, it has mishaped your face but its better lighting and clearer.

Too late now I know, but before you need to send more to other people, get some better ones using the best of both the pics combined, ie good lighting, clear and well framed.

Cheers.

The lighting is interesting - but they were all I could afford at the moment, being broke! My friend did them for pretty much nothing, and without much equipment - I'm gonna get some proper ones done when I have the money.
I have some good, professional ones, but I just don't look like them anymore! Ah well, like you said, too late now d'oh!

I totally understand, don't get me wrong, I had some home-made ones done recently, here: http://musicals.net/forums/viewtopic.php?t=53884&start=0&postdays=0&postorder=asc&highlight=

I just wanted to give some construcitve [hoefully] criticism in the hope that you can know what to improve next time.

Next time I intend to PAY for them lol Mr. Green
You find ways when you're broke, they don't always bring the best results - mind you, I have one set of head shots that I paid £150 for and they're worse than those!

I've been very fortunate because my community theatre group has a professional photographer that's a member...and he does them for free every two years if you are in a show and need them for the bulletin board (or more often if there is a VAST difference in the way you look.) For the price of a reprint, he'll make us 8x10s Smile

Totally, I don't think pro ones are always good, they are often done as glamour shots and not what you need. Homemade ones have the advantage of being cheaper and you can ask your freind to do it differntly if you think its not right [especially if its digital- you can see it as they go along]. Its hard to say to a pro, 'no I want it like this' because you don't know them.

I'm treating myself to my first professional headshots in a month or so. I'm finally getting paid to do a show, so that money's is going to go into good headshots! Yippee!!!
