i just auditioned...

i auditioned for cinderella in ITW jr., and i sung On the Steps of the Palace, and read my lines very good. they also ask u to read for another part that they think you would be good at and they had me read for baker's wife. i was really excited because normally if they ask you to read something for them, that is usually the part you are gonna get and they hardly ever ask you to read for a lead and then not anything else, so i think they were sastisfied...and after i was done they said i was really really good and that i have a beautiful high voice! yay! so what do u think about how my audition went?

we don't find out for 2 weeks but i'll let you guys know what happened when i find out...

o ya and also in the last show i did very well because i had laryngitis and a broken arm but everyone said i was amazing and no one could tell. normally this doesn't mean anything, but in this group it is very political and a lot of the casting in the next show is decided in the current show... if that makes sense...

thanx a ton!

Good luck! The Baker's Wife, as I'm sure you know, is one of (if not THE) most coveted role in musical theatre. Of course, Cinderella is an amzing part also (and my favorite character).

If you have a high voice, that is probably why you got Jack's mother. She is more of a soprano, while the baker's wife and Cinderella are mezo-sopranos.

ya but i always thought jack's mother was a mezzo...

The MTI website says that she is a "Soprano: B - High F sharp". Stageagent.com says the same.

That is so annoying, especially when they get a good part. People should be happy with they what they get and not be so spoiled- and disrespectful to those who weren't as lucky as them.

I agree. But again, a part is what you make of it. I've had the most fun in shows playing smaller parts, because you can really explore the character.
