How do you pronounce Giry? Is it Giry as in Gold? Or Giry as in Jelly?
Bear with me, I know this is something I should allready know.
Thanks!

Yeah. Soft G. We were reading it in French just recently and my French teacher kept pronouncing it with a hard G, and I just wanted to beat her over the head with the book.

The G is pronounced like SH (as in Shit ).
The pressure of the word should be on the last syllable
The R sould be as the French pronounce it (guttural)
Which basically gives us the name Shee-REE (thanks to my French stepfather )
