How would you "Type" Ruthie Henshall?

Character? Ingenue? Some other form of female "type"?

And please.. an ACTUAL answer would be nice. While snark is amusing, and I know how you all do love to snark my ruthie, I'm genuinely curious.
PappyCat

I think she has the ability to do both. Leaning towards quirky engenue...Know what I mean?

Leading Lady

That is a legitimate type, then?

I can't seem to think of myself as such in a way that won't come off as an egotistical cow.
Matthew

I agree with Chev.

And refrain from a Ruthie joke.

absolutely. when you are too old for ingenue, and too "big" for the chorus, you are a Leading Lady.

look at shows w/ many females:

Anything Goes: Hope=Ingenue; Bonnie/Irma = bimbo; Reno = Leading Lady

Fantine is a Leading Lady, even tho the part is small

Mame is a Leading Lady.

Eva Peron is a Leading Lady.

Rose in Bye Bye Birdie is a Leading Lady.

Awesome??

I don't know what she's really played other than Fantine.

I think she's done both leads in Chicago?[/code]

Indeed, she has.

And I agree with "Leading Lady."
Bianca.

then I think that has got to be my type.

I never really knew how to classify it...

COOL.

But yes. I see exactly what you mean with that in Ruthie.
LaurelDP

Leading lady is exactly what I was going to post.

And it's not an ego issue to call yourself a leading lady. It's definitely a type that a lot of people fit into.
Salome

She is versatile as all hell. I dont think you can classify her..she has played Ingenues,Character roles, sluts, heroies, witches and frontier girls.

for the person who never saw her in anything check out her great work on the cast albums of

Chicago
Crazy For You
Les miz in Concert
Hey Mr. Producer

she also starred in Oliver, Miss Saigon,She Loves Me,Woman in White.
Marcellus

I know her only for Hey Mr. Producer and Putting it Together.'

I'd type her as talented and entertaining.
