How to play a nervous person

I am auditioning for Suki in The Witches of Eastwick, She has to be fairly nervous does anyone have any tips for a confident person (me) playing this role.....

Never play the condition...

Nervousness comes as a realistic result of something else. Cause and effect. What you have to do is research why she might be that way in the first place...and perhaps recall times that have made you nervous and what that made you do as a result of it, how it made you feel.

Otherwise, you're just playing the nervousness, which isn't an interesting choice.

Hope that helped! Smile

MM very interesting....I have been trying to think of situations that have made me very uncomfortable...

The audition piece is when Suki first meets Darryl and I was thinking how I have felt in the past when somebody I fancy talks to me....

Do you think this is going on the right lines....

I don't know too much about the piece, but it sounds like the right idea! Smile

I wouldn't say Suki is nervous. She just doesn't have a way with words, hence the song! She seems to trip over words a lot, not really stutter as such.
