How to get an Agent? How does one go about getting a musical theatre agent? I am totally lost. I know I could get one if I had an audition, but I don't know how to go about doing even that. How do I find out about musical theatre agents and how do I get an audition with one (if that's even how it works). I've had many leads in community/semi-pro theatres but I have no idea what to do. To give you more information I'm going to be 17 soon and I live 45 minutes from LA.
Any help is greatly appreciated. I really want to get into professional theatre, but have no idea how to get an agent.
Thanks

Honestly, since you're on the West Coast, I'd focus on a film agent (that I assume could also get you theatre and television gigs). Let me tell you theatre for people our age is very difficult to find around here. You may want to try Backstage West magazine.

I'm mostly interested in musical theatre though. I might give backstage west a try, but I am not equity. Do I have to have an agent to become equity?
