How should one sing "Home"

Ok so at the end when Belle says

"Build higher walls around me, change every lock and key. Nothing lasts, nothing holds all of me"

Here's what I get from that:

She's basically saying no matter how you try you can't hold me down and I'll overcome this. Am I right?

So I'm basically asking should this part be sung belty and strong?

Yes, she is completely saying, "Bring it on bitches! Build the highest wall you can possibly build. And use every lock in the world and mix up all the keys. I will still be free." She's ready for the challenge. So if you feel that belting is the best way to express this, then go for it. That's probably what I would do too.

In the same regime you also have to remember that she is trapped even though she is saying this she knows she is trapped. I think this song is all about belle convincing herself that she can be happy where ever home is. So I dont know if full belt the whole time you want to belt that line. Maybe start belting and reserve into a softer voice for mnore of a reflection effect. Its just a thoght. This is what makes Belle such a great charactor.

I'm not a huge fan of belting. I would sing it more legit, but certainly work the intensity into your acting of the song.

(cresendo to alls) Build higher walls (decresendo to end of line) around me, change every lock and key. Nothing lasts, nothing holds all of me

Be sure that at the end you are very resolute but still soft. I almost see it as if she's kinda crying by nothing lasts, nothing holds all of me. Because even though she says nothing will stop her she knows that everything is not fine.
