How does the stage looks on the Tour 2007Hello
When the Starlight Express is on the same place all the time the stage must be very cool.
But when they are on tour? How do they build the stage, or are they only on the main stage in front of the audience?
Does anyone have any pics from the 2007 Tour or 2006? to show?
Or some homemade video?
THanks

They have the main stage that looks something like this:
They have ramps going around in a semi-circle with various entrances / exits.
For the races. A big screen comes down and it is projected.
There is a catwalk that goes into about row L into the stalls that the rappers (are they called that?) skate on really quickly and stuff.

That is the set from the 2004/05 tour. 2006 and 2007 tour has a much smaller set. No ramps except two which are pushed on and offstage by the cast or by the crew. It is simply a circle with arches cutting across the back and sides. It is just takes up the main floor of the stage, and over the orchestra pit. There are no tracks or anything built out, nowhere to go other than the main stage.

The Starlight tour is running on a shoestring. Or even a skate-lace, as Belle says (she's right here beside me).
The smaller the set is, the cheaper it is to move, and it means they can fit into smaller theatres, it costs less to put on the show, and therefore maximises the profit. Which is NOT ploughed back into the production.
It's all about money-money-money, which is a tremendous disgrace for such a good show. |
That is ture, come to think of it. Because, it was once on at a big theatre near me and then when it came back, it went to a smaller theatre.
