how do people find auditions? This might be considered a fairly stupid question but I am totally clueless when it comes to these things since I haven't done any theater work and I've only done things at the schools I've been to..Where do people find auditions? I'm not talking about broadway/professional theater/etc. just community stuff and things like that. I know there must be some in the area since I'm in the LA area, but I have no clue how to find them! Is there any site, number, or you know whatever that could help me out with this? I'm in Orange County, by the way if there's a specific one that I need to go to for information for this area. |

you search. and search, and search, and search. mostly on the internet, because it's easiest, though not exactly reliable.
i found out about CYT (Christian Youth Theatre) in my town because there was a poster advertising auditions for it on a bulletin board at my school. and then i found the website, afterwards. i think i might be able to help you...go to http://www.cyt.org/index.cfm?PAGE_ID=2454&EXPAND=2454 and see if any of those areas are near where you live. |

you can always check the arts and entertainment section of your newspaper if there's any auditions at a local community theater they should have some sort of advertisment or announcement. but also search around the internet too for local theaters and such usally community theaters realease their season information (audtion dates and opening and closing nights) well in advance. just search around you'll find some audition one way or another. |

I think those two already explained everything. I found out about auditions in my area by searching online for youth theaters near where I live. And I found some! |

I just googled "Orange County Youth Theatres" and got a TON of leads...
Hope that helps! |
