How big is Hugo's role?

Hi! I was recently cast as Hugo in a local group's production (we haven't started rehearsals yet) and was wondering how big the role is. I know he doesn't sing or dance like in the movie Sad , but was just curious about approx. how many scenes/lines he has. I've seen the production twice, but both performances were a while ago and I don't really remember. Thanks in advance for the help!

Hugo is a fairly decent sized role! I played Hugo about 2 years ago. It's a very fun role to play, if played right you can get many laughs. Yes he doesn't sing nor dance, but when I did it, I danced in Honestly Sincere, I joined the dance kind of towards the end...and then was like wait a minute I don't like conrad, so then I went to go catch kim b/c she was about to faint. thats the only part that I danced in. He has a good amount of speaking lines.

He is in 4 scenes in Act 1 and then he is in 5 scene in act 2.

so congrats on getting hugo, and have fun!!!!

having just played Hugo, its such a fun role. its not a HUGE role, but its a decent one. a lot of laughs!

he and Rosie are such downers in the show though! haha everyone is having fun, and then Hugo punches Conrad, gets drunk (off milk), ect..

its a great role though..

Favorite. Scene. EVER.
Hugo is great. He's not like, a huge singing role, but he's a good sized part.

I was really hoping I wouldn't be cast as Hugo because he doesn't sing, but after reading this, I don't think I'd mind that much if I was cast as Hugo. He gets drunk off of milk?
Sean

He can't drink because he's underage....so he drinks a lot of milk and thinks that he drunk from it LOL

lol - that's great! Laughing

Hugo is definately a good part. I can say this because my boyfriend was Hugo, and I was some random teen chorus girls. Hugo is a good role because it's not overly challenging... you're not 15 trying to be 45, as in Mr. Mckafee. Yet you have a chance to exhibit real emotions, and have the audience relate to your jealousy...
I don't remember the getting drunk off milk part... I think they editted that out Sad
And Hugo gets Kim in the end, so it's all good.
Try to get the punching Conrad thing to look halfway realistic... that was probably the worst part of our show...
