High School Musical - Gabriella or Sharpay?I'm auditioning for High School Musical soon and I wanna know if you guys think I should go out for Gabriella or Sharpay.
Here's some info about me:
Height - 5'4" 1/2
Hair color - Dark Brown
Eye color - Light Blue
Range - Soprano/Belter
Past Roles - "Brigitta" in The Sound of Music, "Who #1" in Seussical the Musical, "Newscarrier/Rich girl" in Jekyll and Hyde, "Martha" in The Secret Garden and "Chava" in Fiddler on the Roof.
What do you guys think?

Hmmm... Looking at past roles, you sound more like a Gabriella to me.
Personally, I think Sharpay would be more fun to play, but I don't like slow, romantic songs.

I just auditioned for High School Musical yesterday, but it was for Taylor.
I agree, Sharpey would be the most fun to play!
And I also agree that you sound like more of a Gabriella.

if you are more comfortable with ballads go for gabriella, if you are more of a character actor go for sharpay!

Becasue you have dark hair, go for Gabriella, Sharpay needsto be blonde in my opinion. And wigs look aweful.

I agree. I HATE high school musical and I think hair dye and wigs can fix anything along those lines, but I think any director putting on this show will just be trying to make a carbon copy of the movie aka blonde sharpay

don't let your hair colour put you off going for both! if your director is more interested in acting than appearance, you stand a chance at both parts!

I saw the show done and the Sharpay had dark hair...but in my opinion she needs to be blonde too- there needs to be a contrast between Sharpay and Gabriella looks wise it's not just about copying Disney...and the both of them with dark hair just...didnt feel right.
But if the director likes you and wants you for Sharpay then its all good cause it is a fun role!

yeah, the gabriella in my show had blond hair, and the sharpay had brown.

I think really as long as there is a contrast...that's just my opinion though and I'm only one person...and not even directing the show so you don't really need to take mine to heart.
