hi i've never...

been in any plays or musicals is Cats a good play to be my 1st?
Matthew

On a Cats board, you might get a biased opinion.

If you're asking if CATS is good to be in, the obvious answer is...

NO!!

To be in CATS, you need intense vocal and dance training, otherwise you don't have a hope in hell to get in.

...unless it's a high school-level production.

I don't think you gave enough info. Approx age (high school, 20's etc..), training, etc. Do you have any experience in dance, singing, anything like that?
cinderellax4x

well i'm 13
the director is looking for people between the ages of 6th grade-college
no i've never had voice lessons or anything but i have sang in front of people like on stage
and no i don't take dance lessons
is that better?

plus the group that is doing cats isn't a very big group and need more people....

If you feel capable then there's no harm in auditioning. You may have what they're looking for but if you don't get in then auditioning is still a valuable experience in itself if you want to go on to a career in the performing arts.

so i audctioned and got a part but it's just an add on part that the director is creating...but yeah audictions were terrible so yeah i'm disappionted but very glad i got a part.

Honey, some of us on here would kill to have any part whatsoever in Cats, be it an add-on... anything. Myself included. So who cares if you didn't get a main part? You're 13, there will be more oppurtunities! And you're in Cats!!!! Do you know how jealous I am of you? So don't you feel disappointed about a thing!
But if it's advice you want, you'll probably do better next time an audition comes around if you try taking some singing lessons and some dance lessons. You think you know it all until you take them, trust me. And they make you look a lot better in the eyes of the casting director. Wink
So you just get out there and have a good time and do the best you can. And have fun! After all, that's what it's all about. Very Happy Wink Very Happy
