I don't know much about the show, besides that it deals with racism and that it's composed by Ahrens and Flaherty, the team behind Seussical and the movie, Anastasia. I'm no help.

I think it's a wonderful show! I don't know exactly what you want to know about it though. I mean I assume you've got a general idea of the plot/characters from wikipedia or MTI or whatever. It's a very short show, 1 act and about 90 minutes. It is supposed to be done with an almost entirely black cast, because like Gavroche said it deals with racism. But I've seen it done with a much more ethnically diverse cast and it basically has the same message in regards to social classes rather than race.
It's appropriate for kids. It's loosely based on The Little Mermaid (and I mean VERY loosely, there is no mermaid...). It is a very dance centric show (the kind of theme song of the show is called "We Dance." But it also requires strong singing. You need a really good youngish girl to play the lead Ti Moune. She more than anyone has to be an exceptional dancer.
