I am trying to work out what musical a certain song come from. It contains the following lyrics:
"lifting up my velvet dress"
"shoot him down"
and the word "Madam" comes up several times at different parts of the song.
It is quite an upbeat song, with a jazzy feel to it.
Any help would be fantastic - not much to go by I know!

I severly doubt it but it sounds almost like something from Chicago, because of the Jazzy sound, but plenty of musicals carry those kinds of tunes. I personally don't know any of the jazzy tunes, but if you ever have any questions comments or general hooha that applies to Rent or Jonathon Larson, give me a ring.
