Help With Vocal Coaches. At the moment, I have an hour and a half of vocal trainings a week.
Half an hour is privately at school with a top vocal coach, the other hour is at this stage school I go to, in groups and individually.
At the end of this school year, my vocal coach at school is leaving and will get replaced in September. The one I have now focuses on technique, ranges, caring for the voice and breathing.
At the stage school, we have a teacher who focuses on breathing, and to be fair, I'm good at breathing when I'm singing.
I got 7 weeks off for the Summer at school, so I wont be having voice lessons for at least 8 weeks. Same for the stage school.
During the Summer, I'll be rehearsing for three different shows. And I'm on of those people who needs to have continuous lessons to keep on top and care for my voice.
So I was going to get a couple of lessons (maybe 2 or so a week) during my Summer holiday, privately. However, I don't know where to find a teacher.
Are there any good "music search engines" or does anyone know a good voice teacher in the Midlands? Or just anything really...
EDIT: Especially since in two of the three shows I'm a lead and in the past, I've gotten my school vocal coach to work on solo's with me so it doesn't take up too much time of the MD of the show as it's easier and produces a better "outcome" this way.

My best advice is to go word-of-mouth. I know you've been in shows with older performers, so I would see if you could contact them and ask who they study with. Or, if you just know of people who study voice, ask them for their teachers' number. And always do a trial lesson or two first to make sure you like them.

*Durh.*
I miss the most obvious solutions at times.
Thanks.

Haha, no prob. I know you can use some searches to find teachers, but I find those teachers ususally not as good as the ones who don't have to sell themselves online.
Good luck!!

Thanks, in the 30 seconds since I replied, I've got a list of 5 people to call!

Totally off topic, but what three shows are you going to be rehearsing for?

Whoa there Pappy, better take that to the PMs.

Buh?
Actually, it isn't off topic, not in the broader context of WB's situation.
WB, you're in the Midlands... are there any performing arts colleges near you, like Stella Mann in Bedford? I'm wondering if you'd be able to find a good singing teacher through one of them.

I think she was kidding.

Yes, of course she was!
WB, if you're still stuck for a singing teacher, try the small ads at the back of The Stage. There's pages of them.

Thanks for the responses!
I've found two vocal coaches. I'll give them a call on the weekend and find out some more info.
Plus I've found a couple of art's colleges to try.
Well, the three shows are:
Sleeping Beauty (I'm Prince Charming).
The Wizard of Oz (yet to be cast).
Boogie Nights (probably not doing this, auditions were two weeks ago and still haven't gotten a reply).
