Help with Johanna

Just got cast as Johanna, but i don't really know much about her, apart from her song, which sounds very 'nice' is there anymore to her?

Hmm..

Johanna isn't the most complex character, but she does have a little bit of substance to her. She longs for freedom and love. She's lived her entire life in a pedophile's/rapist's house practically shut up from human eye, not knowing who her parent's are. She see's her prince charming in Antony and want's nothing more then for him to rescue her. Nevertheless, despite her life-long trauma, Johanna is still in many ways, the traditional, blond, love-sick, young, pretty, damsel in distress: naive, innocent, and vulnerable.

I hope this helps.

congrats on Johanna! thats one of my dream roles

i think Johanna is more complex than most people know....she's usually played a bit twity and crazy- but why?
wouldnt you start to go a bit psycho if you were raised by a rapist?

Thanks for the comments,
Yea i thought that surely she woulnd't really be a 'normal' child as she's been alienated, so she's probably not very aware of different people, just her little world. But i didn't think she knew judge was a rapist.?

she probably doesnt even know what a rapist is but think about children who are molested- they dont exactly know that it's wrong but it's very strange to them and often causes psychological problems

Johanna actually reminds me of the birds she sings about. Very pretty, but not particularly bright.

She is very trusting, mainly in Antony, and does not really do things for herself ever. She is quite a dependent person. She knows her life is screwed up but doesn't have the guts to do anything about except when she kills Fogg.
