I was just cast as Chava and I need to know if she has to kiss Fyedka in Fiddler. Does anyone know?

No that part actually hasn't been cast yet. I got Chava and didn't even have to do a callback. All of the female leads are cast already but the male leads haven't been cast yet

I just got through playing Laura in The Glass Menagerie and had to do a stage kiss. As an actress it didn't bother me but my boyfriend was rather upset about it. I just really need to know if I have to do another stage kiss

Well I don't remember any kissing in the film, but I've never seen Fiddler on stage.

I'm pretty sure there isn't any. She and Fyedka don't really do much of anything together on stage, in terms of physical, because they have that whole forbidden love thing going on.

It really depends on the director, but most productions I've seen (including the one I was in) doesn't have Chava and Fyedka kiss.

That being said, you may want to have a talk with your boyfriend if you intend to pursue acting. Stage kissing is all part of the business. He needs to understand that it isn't you kissing some other guy (or in some productions some girl), but your character kissing his character.

I've seen fiddler done in 4 different productions and never a kiss.

There isn't a kiss. Don't worry. Unless your director desides to have a kiss, but there isn't one in the script.

I'm playing Chava, and as yet i dont know if i have to kiss Fyedka, but as for your boyfriend you need to talk to him. Luckily my boyfriend is into acting aswell and we both know where we stand on on stage kissing
