i have an audition today and i woke up with a cold and terrible throat, strepsils wont work. does anyone know a last minute thing that will help?

I've heard that humming with the mouth open can help in clearing the throat somewhat if it feels kind of clogged. Honey, I find, helps to soothe a sore throat as well.

When I'm sick, the main problem for me, though, is the congested nose -- if that's a problem for you, then the quick fix I use is to fill a bowl with boiling water, lean over it with a towel over your head and inhale the steam.

Take it easy, though -- don't strain, because that'll just work out bad for your voice in the end! (And get well soon!)
