Help you out? Which way did you come in?

ANYWAY...
Off the top of my head, there's Joe Boyd and his wife, the wife's two friends, Joe Hardy, Mr. Applegate, Lola, the Washington Senators coach, and several baseball players. This is by no means a comprehensive list. For that, I suggest you rent the movie version to get a better idea. Do try out; it's a fun show to watch - it should be a blast to do!

Characters

the Washington Senators coach - is he like a main character or a couple scenes??

several baseball players - about how many total......

I'm going to rent the movie so dont worry

The coach is a second-string character, I would say. He's got a fair amount of stage time, and leads 'You Gotta Have Heart'. I'd say roughly nine baseball players, as that's the usual number. In a school/community production, the players usually double up on roles. I remember one recent production where some were also in Lola's cabaret number and dancers in 'Two Lost Souls', amongst others.

Let me know how you like the film. Of course, it could do more than a stage production can, but it'll give you a good idea, and the casting is pretty good. Look for Ray Walston as Mr. Applegate and Jean Stapleton (of Edith Bunker fame) as one of Mrs. Boyd's friends.
