Help! Lowering Key in a Backing Track?

a friend and I are planning on performing Rent's "Take Me Or Leave Me" at an upcoming HS variety show... yeah, it's lame... yeah, we're lamer, but hey, what the hell...
As it turns out, I'm going to be singing Maureen's part, because it much too high for my partner...
Now, I do have the notes, but I have several productions coming up, and I'd really rather not destroy my vocal chords...
So my question is, IF it's possible, could someone who has a computer program to do, lower the key of the track for me, if I provide the track? OR point me in the direction of a (*FREE*) program I could use myself with some instruction...??

I'd really appreciate the help...

if you have the sheet music scanned on the computer I could try to do it. I might be able to do it with a midi file too. I can't promise you anything though.

Google and download Audacity. It can do pitch adjustments.

Yeah, I have audacity. Plus I have the backing for Take Me or Leave Me.

I could do it for you if you want? PM me if you want me to and tell me how much you want it lowering (how many semitones to go down or something) and give me your email address and I'll send it to you.
