Help DirectingSo, am I am directing my first show. We have Winter One Acts, and I am one of 4 student directors. Unfortunately, our club sponsor magically lost my show requests and didn't tell me until 4 days before auditions.
So, those are Monday and Tuesday. Our director has a specific way of running auditions, therefore, I don't need help with that, but he leaves the way we get our show together in our hands.
I need help with that.
I really don't know how to run each rehearsal and what to really do. And nobody is giving me any advice. We won't have time for a read through because of my sponsor, so there goes my first thing I wnated. I have until about January 10th to get all of it put together. I want to try to take two weeks or three weeks and get memorizing and blocking done, then spend the rest of the time cleaning up scenes or whatever, but I don't know if it is gonna be too little time to try to get anything or whatever. I need major help!

directingOK, breathe, You have a good idea for a plan. Make a calendar. It may not be perfect but it will help you map out how much time you have and when you need to be up and running . For a one act, 2 weeks should be fine to finish blocking. Once finished blocking a scene tell your actors to be off book on the next run. Once you have finished blocking, and are off book, the work really begins+You can still make changes and improvements. Clean up your show and go for it! Cam
