[Sweeney Hyde]

Like a long awaited revival, I am back as I now have the interweb again.

Tell me of your woes, your sighs, your smiles, your undies, your pancreas, your oblong eyelashes!

At any rate this has been a very eventful summer for me. I did my first summer stock... and although they weren't the first shows on my list to do, I have learned a great deal and had a lot of fun being a part of them. Our first show was High School Musical... I played Zeke. Can we talk about how this was the most difficult musical I've ever done in terms of vocal strain and choreography? I still hate the show as a show, but in a professional setting it can be quite difficult to pull together. Oh, and did I mention that we had only ten days to rehearse before opening? Fun Fun Fun. And although we didn't put together the best HSM I think we did the best we could. I worked in our scene shop for the summer (woot for first paid theatre job!) and this was by far the easiest of the shows to build. The show played for three weeks and sold out several performances. My range was strengthened as there is no bass clef in the musical score and my dancing improved greatly as well. School House Rock was the next show. I wasn't cast in it but worked extensively on the set and props... it was rather crazy... I'm not getting into it. It turned out to be a very fun show, though, although it didn't do well at all at the box office. Our last show was/is Joseph. It has been an absolute blast. I'm not a fan of the show itself but it's so much fun to perform. The show looks great. We've sold out almost every night of the run. I was cast as Zebulon and Joseph's understudy. Our Joseph became ill two days ago, so for the past two nights I've been going on as Joseph... still waiting to hear if I go on tonight. It's been the most amazing experience... I can't even begin to describe how supportive the cast has been. I've learned more doing this show than perhaps any other. We have two more performances and then it's all over and I go home for a few weeks before school starts.
In addition I have moved into my own apartment... it's kind of crazy to think I have my own place... "Sometimes I look in the mirror and I wonder, 'Where did I go?'"

Glad to see you're doing well, Sweeney Hyde. As for me, I've recently rediscovered an interest in learning. Just gaining knowledge about everything there is to know! lol

It's good to see you back! My summer's been going well. Marching band season's starting to kick into full gear. Band camp starts next week, so I'm excited for that. Luckily, the temperatures won't be sweltering. lol

I've also been introduced to a few more musicals (I only saw the movies)and found myself enjoying a movie genre I thought I'd never get interested in: Horror.

Believe it or not, I actually worked briefly. I got a promotion after two days, then a second promotion and a raise within a week. I ended up having a cushy job in an office. Then I got laid off after two months. What a drag. I moved out of my stupid parents' house so I could make my own damn rules, and it is wonderful. I received my third marriage proposal and turned it down on the grounds that I could probably do better. I also started working the underground market, peddling organs and sewing machines. I tried out a John the Baptist facial hair style instead of my regular Jesus look, then went for the Lucifer look, now deciding whether I like it enough to keep it or go back to the Jesus style. And I made a new dog friend... one of my roommates has a medium-sized, short haired, brown doggie named Shanty... she's no beagle, but she's still a very good girl, so she's okay by me. My dear little sister got married, and I got the last piece of the chocolate layer when cake got distributed.

All in all, an exciting and productive couple of months. I love my life.

My summer's been gooood. I went to Laine Theatre Arts musical theatre Summer School, and it was a real learning expierience for me. Loved it so much. And last night I went to see Chicago, which was amazing.
