Happy Birthday, Canada!

141 years old on July 1st!

I'm going to a big event at the local university tomorrow night for fireworks n' such.

What are the other Canadian's doing to celebrate?
mastachen

No one cares.

I'm working all day, which is a bummer, then off to rehearsal. Buuuut.....said rehearsal will be held at my lovely castmate's place which is equipped with a beautiful backyard, impending BBQ and cocktails, a pool, and fireworks-viewing range!

Canada!!! WOOT.

I'm working. Working meaning playing drums with the Community band this aftternoon. We're playing "O Canada" and then we have an hour concert. I love playing on Canada Day.

Then, I'm staying in town all day and night and partying with friends.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY CANADA. I AM PROUD TO BE CANADIAN!!

Andy.

Dang, we're getting old.

And....wow. Am I the only one who's surprised, amazed and comforted to know that there's at least one American who knows what's going on with Canadian politics? Very Happy Yay Salome.

We had a fantastic day here! Sunny skies, no clouds, and very warm... no humidity.

The gig I played went well. Except that, when we were playing our third selection, another band was doing a soundcheck on the main stage.

I play in a concert band of maybe 45 members. We're too big to fit on the main stage (and we're the official town band), so we had to set up and play in front of the stage.

We were playing "Petland Hills" when the conductor angrily cut me off. I thought I was doing something wrong. After he had words with the other band, he stormed off. We then had an unscheduled 10-minute break.

Somehow, the schedule had been screwed up.

We ended up finishing up the rest of the concert. The other band announced that proceeds from their CD sales would be coming to us. We were flattered.

The rest nof the day was amazing. Can't wait for next year!
