Halloween costumes :)

Post pictures of what you're being for Halloween! Smile I love seeing everyone's costumes.

I'm going as little red Smile
hyperactress23

I don't actually celebrate Halloween, but I've wanted to go Christmas caroling during trick or treating for years. I've always had rehearsal though, so I've never gotten the chance...

RED15

SmallTownIngenue

Goldilocks Very Happy

And Lyss, I thought you were going as Princess Peach? But Little Red is awesome too. Smile
Jebbykins

ALYSSSSSAA!!! I am going to be a Barbie. I think I have to go find somewhere that makes a barbie costume... can't you just wear your own clothing and say you are barbie???? haha

OMG I LOVE YOU!
And what the heck are you doing for Halloween?!
sylvesterm11

Snow White Very Happy

I can't decide what shoes to wear, though... any ideas?
kozafluitmusique

No idea yet.
WontYouCharlestonWithMe

Morton Salt Girl
lottielou22

I'm going to be Rogue from X-Men, in all her original green-and-yellow-spandex-ed glory. =)

and WontYouCharlestonWithMe, I just love your costume idea! It makes me very happy!! Mr. Green
lakmé

i LOVE the morton salt girl idea.
broadway_bound92

I'm still not sure on shoes, though. Any ideas?
WontYouCharlestonWithMe

Thanks! Smile

Greek Goddess!

Sweet Soprano, with your new red hair you could be Meg from Hercules!!
SmallTownIngenue

teapot wrote:

She has the name too! Wink
sweetsoprano

YES! I didn't think of that!

This is the only one I can find and it's not really Meg, but close enough, right?

Apparently they don't make Meg costumes?
Beagle On Stage

It looks enough like what she wears that people would recognize you as being dressed as her, especially with your new hair.
ConverseSneaker

I'm going to be horribly boring and be a witch, but I've never been one before so I get excused from being creative, right?
Beagle On Stage

You can still be creative as a witch if you go all out!
Fantine

Where do you guys get cheap costumes? (preferrably something that ships to Canada)

This will be my first Halloween EVER! Very Happy *exited*

OMG FANTINE YOU HAVE TO SEE MY COSTUME WHEN I FINISH!!!!!!!

I"M LOVELY LADY FANTINE!!!!!!!
TheWitch

I'm a little disappointed that I'll have to wear the same costume I wore last year. But since I like to make my own and didn't bring my sewing machine with me when I moved back to NYC, It's the best choice. Besides, it think it's perty.

P.S. What are the New Yorkers' plans? My friends and I don't really have any and my costume is a lil big for the huuuuuge crowds of the parade. Any idea's are welcome.

And for those of you who are curious as to what the costume is:

I'm the one who happens to be a boy under all the frill.

Seriously?

That's awesome.
mezzo_soprano

SERIOUSLY!!!

The costume won't be exact, but I'm making a similar one. Pictures will be posted. So far for pictures I have:

NECKLACE

LadyOfTheLake

Me.

Wait, Tori, where'd you go?

Wink
Niveo

If i can get it together, I am going as Sabretoothe with the Rogue girl. I'm not going as 80's though. Sort of a mix. Claws and fangs, but a duster with fur around the collar and short hair with ridiculous sideburns
bittenbythetheatrebug

I'm going as a Sim. Which is lame, but since I don't really have plans this year for Halloween (at least, yet), I'm going to be making a big green diamond and attach it to a headband.

You better get started. Making a diamond takes longer than you would think. Wink
LaurelDP

The Sim idea is great. My friend went to comic con a few years ago as a Sim, people loved it.
pennypingleton1994

Regina from Rock of Ages.

The one in the middle, obviously. Very Happy
~GertrudeMcFuzz~

I have a state singing competition on Halloween, so I won't be able to dress up. Sad

But if I did, I would find a guy to go with me and dress as Jim and Pam from The Office. Smile
lovesinging

I really want to be Enjolras, but I have a choir audition on Halloween.
SmallTownIngenue

Seems to be there are a lot of choral activities going on Halloween....weird.

I also have a choral festival on Halloween, but I should get back on campus in time for Halloween festivities.
fjays

I'm having a Halloween party for my birthday this year (I'm celebrating Halloween for once, screw that, Australia!)

My costume will most likely be:

little red riding hood Very Happy
jackissensational

SLUT.EEEY. I approve.

I'm going as Ferris Bueller, but I don't have anything put together yet.

I saw! Your costume is cuter than mine though Sad Ah well! Shall be good! I plan on staying in character all night. Of course, it will be Into The Wood's Little Red, not normal, so I can act like a snot.. Just kidding.. Rolling Eyes

Haha, are you referring to all girls, or any in particular? You're a funny kiddo.
christinadaae

I think most Halloween costumes girls wear these days are whorish.

I want to look sexy too, but not like a character in a freaking porno.
Patch

I have no idea what I'm going to do for Halloween this year. Last year I was n MIB. This year...no clue.

I don't think we're all going out looking like porn stars..we're just out to have some fun and get trashed. (Well I am. Laughing )

As long as people don't dress like that everyday, I have no problem with the slutty costumes. And if they are "fit" enough to wear them if you know what I'm saying.
Nudelkopf

I met my first real life person who celebrates Halloween, yesterday.
nabla

Halloween is virtually non-existant here, I'm totally celebrating it next year when it's not in the middle of my exams etc.

Also our senior year all gets to dress up tommorow for our last day of school, me and my friend are being Sweeny Todd and Mrs Lovett, fun Smile
LaurelDP

I'm not going anywhere, so I'm not dressing up.

My friend wants me to go to Santa Barbara with him, and he wants me to go as Rachel Zoe.
But I really don't want to go to Santa Barbara when I'll be reliant on someone else for transportation. I don't want to be stuck if something goes wrong or if I'm uncomfortable.

That's a very sage gut feeling. Go with it.
Jman383

One of my friends told me I should go as Astro Boy....

But, being a broke college student, idk if I can even afford a costume this year. Lord knows I couldn't last year, but I made it work and was Coach Carr from Mean Girls/ U Mich football coach hahaha.
Jman383

christinadaae wrote:

Haven't you seen Mean Girls, m'dear?!
Quique

Meh. Adults can dress as they please on Halloween. But I do sort of roll my eyes at the 'slutty version of' costumes because not only are they predictable, they are kind of gross when they depict whorish versions of characters that are supposed to be little girls. Ick.

Just dress as a regular Little Red. That'd be really cute.
Jman383

^^ But funny enough, the subtext of Little Red's ENTIRE character is that she IS a whore. That's the entire metaphorical purpose of the story. Just sayin'...

Okay, so I keep forgetting that I know who this is in real life, so your posts keep really creeping me out. =P haha
Brackynn

I've been invited to a few Halloween parties ... only one of which I really want to go to ... but I'm struggling to think of ideas for a costume. I don't really want to buy one, but hiring is certainly an option. Hmmm.

Doesn't make it any less gross. :S Ick.
SomeoneLikeYou

If I remember correctly, red cloaks were worn by prostitutes in medieval times to indicate their...uh...job?
Pannic

I haven't done a Halloween thing for four years. Parents wouldn't let me all throughout high school.

I feel deprived of childhood.
RED15

I'm hoping I'm not working. I'd like to go up to my friend's school and drink. A LOT.
Catherine

I'm going as a pirate. xD

I just need a sword and a bandana...
lakmé

i'm going as joan holloway. it will involve dying my hair red.
kozafluitmusique

I think I said already, but Eponine.
le_moofin

I'm going as a good fairy and my newbestfriend Kate is gonna be a kick-ass bad one. Since we're at OU (pretty much THE place to be for Halloween) we're kinda excited. Smile
Jekkienumber24601

I'm going as Captain Hammer from Dr. Horrible's Sing Along Blog

That is an AMAZING idea. Smile
NoOneMournsTheWicked

I ordered my costume online, and the skirt ended up being way too short, but there's no going back now, so I'm probably going to put leggings or thick black tights on instead:

Since you are in New York, where all stores abound, how about a pair of Manga/anime rufflepants for underneath? Would go with the idea of the outfit and preserve modesty.
NoOneMournsTheWicked

I'm just going to go with leggings, since they'll cover more skin, and it's supposed to be a little chilly and rainy on Saturday. It'll be nice to have at least my thighs covered.

So, Im dressing up for work. And Im being elvis!

Should be sweet!

Not Jumpsuit Elvis though. Thats too much!

thank you! i'm pretty pleased with it; it won't be pitch-perfect, but it'll suffice.

the sad part is that, since i'm in the UK where the show's not as popular, no one will get it, save for my housemates (who are as obsessed with the show as i am, thanks to me, hahaha) and like...one other guy. tragic!
curlyhairedsoprano91

i still have no idea. going shopping tomorrow.
Brigantine

... I'm pretty sure I'll be working, and won't be able to do anything for Halloween.... Sad
Orestes Fasting

Halloween isn't a huge thing here, but my friend and I are going to student-rush La Bohème dressed like... well... bohemian hooligans from the 1830s. Which is quite possible to pull off using naught but the contents of my wardrobe.
RED15

so tomorrow night i'm going to a party as snow white
and saturday i'm being minnie mouse <3 Disney

Captain Hammer: Corporate Tool!
If I were to actually celebrate All Hallow's Eve, I would totally go as Bad Horse or the Purple Pimp
fjays

I'm heading off to a costume shop today, but most likely I'll just go as a punk/rocker/emo/goth.

Should be GOOD Razz
Lepitot

~GertrudeMcFuzz~

This is the first year I haven't dressed up for halloween. College is lame. Sad
LaurelDP

Just gave candy to a little girl in a perfect Lucille Ball costume.

Her dad also complimented my "Pumpkin Pi" pumpkin.

Needless to say, she got extra candy.
