What century is forum supposed to be? My mom has a costume book, and I can scan in some pics if you'd like.

EDIT: Well, my scan is not cooperating, but it appears that the women of Ancient Rome wore their hair back in decorative buns.

All of our courtesans had different hairstyles.

Tintinabula just had hers back in a high bun with small ringlets pulled out. I believe she pinned small pink flowers in it, too.

I was one of the Gemini twins. We kind of wore our hair halfway back in loose cornrows and then slightly curled the rest. Sounds weird, but it looked cool.

Vibrata just left her hair down. She had curly hair so it was wild looking.

I don't remember what Panacea did.

Gymnasia had two braids which they wrapped into buns on each side of her head. Very Helga-ish.

What do you want to bet that a lot of the fancier styles were wigs?

I was a courtesan (Gemini) in this show a couple years back. We have a costume designer who is probably *truly* insane, which is why I will not post any pictures. Us two geminis wore headscarves that matched our costumes because we had different color hair, and another girl wore a colored wig (???). Personally, I think that the hair should be in typical Grecian/Roman style. You know those little gold around-the-forehead 'headbands'? Those might be nice. You could also do updos with little braids, which are very of-the-era, and if the hair is down, wavy would probably work better than curly or straight. Best of luck!
