I need a good song to sing for the first ameteur producion of hairspray. I am trying out for the role of wilbur so something that would work for that charachter. Also I could use a good one minute monologue.

What is your audition for? I'm auditioning for Hairspray too for Internationals (thespian convention) Theres a really good song from Grease called Those Magic Changes. I don't really know who wilbur is but it's a good song in general especially because they both take place during the same time period.

First of all, welcome to the boards! I think you'll find this to be an excellent source for auditioning!

In the future, before making separate threads about "What should I sing", please look above at the "Audition Song Thread" sticky at the top of this page. The first pages especially list some really great suggestions. If you still don't know, it's best to post up there, as many people respond quicker to questions about songs up there.

As for monologues, you may be able to find some great advice in the "Read me" thread at the top. I'm pretty sure on the last few pages, there's a reference for how to find great monologues!
