I'd pick Phantom or something other than those three.

Hairspray is closing and you can see Phantom anywhere.

Although if you were going outside the three see Gypsy!! It's also closing and by the look of the grosses you won't have a problem at all finding seats (although I suppose that can be said for basically all shows bar South pacific and Jersey Boys in recent times)

Really? Huh, I didn't know Hairspray was closing.
Still, though, my answer would have to be Phantom.

Yes. http://www.broadway.com/Broadway-s-Hairspray-to-Close-in-January-Harvey-Fierstein-Return-on-November-11/broadway_news/5012008

Interesting. That's kinda sad...it's always seemed to have star-studded casts. It's nice to see Harvey Fierstein back, though!

Go for Hairspray before it closes, Phantom will be around for a bit longer. And Haaah-vey is supposed to be amazing in it.

Unless your dad is more into classical music than anything else. I know my dad loved Phantom, which came as a surprise to me.

Go see Hairspray. Hairspray to me was a bit more fun, and the new Grease is too....too...blah. Broken record here, but Phantom will be here forever.

But every time I say a show is going to be here for a while it decides to close... (Hairspray, Legally Blonde, Young Frankenstein) lol

Phantom will be around forever. Older and staler than it is now, though.

I saw Grease, and it was just another production of Grease. See it at a high school for five bucks, and leave with the same attitude.

Hairspray is closing. It's a really energy-infectious show that you cannot see in many other places.

So yes, given the circumstances, I'd pick Hairspray. If I was just in NYC, however, I'd have to go with Phantom.

ok--- so now im down to Hairspray and Phantom which were basically my original 2..... Put ur self in my shoes and choose..... Ok.... teenage grl is taking her dad to c any show he wants but wants dad to enjoy it 2.... dosent live in NY (but will someday..... ;D ) and will be returning in April to c Mama Mia.... now choose Phantom or Hairspray.... (oh and btw he enjoyed Les Mis ... dont know if that would help....)

I agree. Forget all three and see Gypsy. I saw it mainly because I couldn't see Cry Baby (since it closed like a week before the day the tickets were for), and I loved it! It's one of my all-time favorite shows now. Seriously, the performances are amazing, and I'm 14 too, so I'm pretty sure you'll enjoy it.

Hmm. It's a toughie, I don't know your dad, but if he grew up in the sixties, he would probably like Hairspray.

But if he really loved Les Mis, go for Phantom.

I'm being indecisive, aren't I?

I've seen Phantom and Hairspray with my Dad. He liked Phantom a lot more, which was a surprise to me. However, I would still go to see Hairspray just to see Mr. Harvey Smile And, like everyone else said, Phantom will always be playing somewhere.
