Hair Issues

So, I'm auditioning for a community theater production soon and would very much like to be considered for the role of Kim. Problems:

-I'm a brunette and Kim is typically a blonde.
-I plan on cutting side bangs into my hair on Sunday. I can probably find a nice 60s-ish style to work with them (a lot of the 'Hairspray' styles had bangs), but do y'all think that would be an issue?

Our Kim was a brunette...and my friend Jackie just got cast as Kim in a production and she has black hair.

I wouldn't worry about hair colour so long as you can portray that sweet, innocent, exciteable Kim thing.

Don't worry about styling your hair either...it's an audition and wigs can be used in performances...plus if the hair is an issue with the director he will let you know and you can tell me what you are willing to change.

I have brown hair and I played Kim twice so don't worry about it! I don't recall there being anything in the script saying that she HAS to be a blond. You could also pull your bangs back if they are a problem. Good luck at your audition!

Hey, would you happen to have the sheet music for Kim's songs? They want us to sing 32 bars from a song from the show for our audition, so I'd like to be able to cut all of them down, so I can change my mind at last minute if I'd like.

I think I might have How Lovely to Be a Woman but I don't have a scanner. Did you check your library?

I played Kim and I have long(middle of my butt) brown hair and side bangs...it didn't make a difference they just styled my bangs and curled my hair and stuff. It doesn't really matter the hair color for Kim. Most people don't come expecting it really. Unlike with Belle having brown hair or Alice(wonderland) to have blond. It doesn't make too big a difference. If you have the talent you'll get the part. For your audition just wear your hair how you normally do for auditions.
