Grease AuditionAny song suggestions? I'm a soprano, I use mainly head voice but I have a good mix and I want to be Sandy.

"Frank Mills" (Hair? not sure what show it's from. I heard it on Susan Egan's CD, which is crap except for two or three songs)
It's very 50's sounding, and sounds like it has a wide range. It's not very long, and very cute.

Me tooI'm auditioning for Sandy in two weeks, too (not at the same place, probably). I plan on singing "Somewhere That's Green" from "Little Shop of Horrors," because it has that sweet, sappy sound which is perfect for the character. I used it for "Beauty and the Beast" and got called back for Belle, so I know it's the right kind of sound. Try that one.

^That seems like kinda a bad suggestion...I wouldn't use a song with such a heavy character voice that doesn't neccessarily require a large amount of vocal ability like somewhere thats green. I would deffinatly try to look into some non-musical music, as Grease is one of the few musicals where it might be appropriate to use non-musical material. Basically, anything from the time period that meets the style would be a good idea, provided it shows off your range. Not gonna lie...Grease isnt so much about the acting...so I wouldn't worry too much about showing character in your audition so much as that you can sing the part (and that you have energy). Then for readings/callbacks try to show off your acting skills.
