GREASE AUDITION HELP!!!

Ok. I am female. a Mezzo, I'm about 5'7 and have brown hair. I am basically a given for Rizzo..... but I want to use the song to conferm that.

What song should I sing if I was going out for the part of Betty Rizzo?

I also have a You're a Good Man, Charlie Brown audition comming up... But I have my song... as over sung as it is.... Shy from Once Upon a Mattress.

Please Help! Thanks a Bunch

For some reason the song: "Fame" from uh.. "Fame" was the first idea that came to me. I don't know how good a choice that is, though.
The songs from "Fame" make me thing of "Grease" to some extent. "In L.A." also might be a good audition song, I guess.

There are a ton of songs in Cy Coleman's "The Life" that would be great. I've also always thought "cooties" from hairspray was a good parallel song to "Sandra Dee."

Thank you both.

But I was wonder if you know of any parallel songs to "There are worse Things I could do"
That seems to be the song they are worrieing about more. But i think about Cooties.

And I will look up "The Life" thank you so much!

Mazie La Bird kinda seems like a Rizzo, maybe you could look up some

songs she sings! or you could think of a bad girl charater from a musical

that you know well and see what solos she sings!

Oh, just remembered! Have you ever looked into this fabulous website? You can search for similar characters to the character you are auditioning for and all that jazz.

If you want a good parallel to 'Worse Things' do "I Know the Truth" from Aida. If you want a good parallel to "Sandra Dee" you could do a mean "Turn Back O Man" from Godspell, it's very sexy and belty and like "Sandra Dee" its a commentary on society at the present time.

Thank you guys all sooooooo much!
Ill let y'all know how it goes!
