Gracie Shinn......lines?Does Gracie Shinn have any lines? If so, about how many? I just got the part even though I auditioned for Zaneeta. I really don't know anything about Gracie. Thanks!

I believe Gracie has a few lines. She's the younger mayor's daughter and she tells everyone that the Well's Fargo Wagon is coming (if I remember correctly). It's a cute part. Have fun with it!

Yep. She has a few here and there. You can have a lot of fun with the girl who plays Zaneeta in having a fun love/hate sister relationship. She likes to snitch on her sister, telling their parents about her and Tommy. My favorite thing that we did in the first production I was in was in the chase scene. My Tommy and I ran into each other and, realizing we were alone (or though we were), we grabbed hands and start to run off stage. But Gracie was right behind me, grabbed a hold of my skirt and planted her little feet to keep me from running off we Tommy. So Tommy picked her up and threw her over his shoulder and we all ran off stage.
Have fun! It's a cute role!

Thanks! I'm glad there is some speaking. Considering the girl playing Zaneeta is my best friend/cousin/might-as-well-be-sister we should have fun.

Oh, I played this role when I was in first grade, and I still remember my lines.
Line one
Costable: Who set off that fire cracker?
ME I know who did it. Tommy Gelous did it Tommy Gelous did it!
Lines two and three
Me Papa The Whels Fargo Wagon Just Pulled Up From the Depo!
Mayor Shinn: The Whels Fargo Wagon and this hour of the day, nonsance
Me It could be the BAND instraments!
The role was double cast and I became friends with the other little girl playing the role. She later introduced me to my best friend. Funny thing was, all of her shows went wrong for her, and mine went smooth.
I.E. She had to repeat her first line because tommy was on the wrong side of the stage, the supervising parents wouldn't let her up to do the scene before Wels Fargo Wagon and the adults improved and went on with out her, next show she went on stage extra early to make sure she could say her lines and just stood there for like 5 minutes. I was perfect though.

It could be the band instruments!!! has to be the line I've laughed at the most. My friend played Gracie our freshman year, I was in the ensemble, and every time she said that line I cracked up. I don't know. Good memory.

according to the last 2 directors I performed The Music Man with, it's "traditional" that Gracie sing the first line of "Wells Fargo Wagon".
my little sister sang it when she played Gracie last year and when I was in a performance of the Music Man before that, our Gracie sung it too.
it probably varies from production to production, though.
