Got my cast listHey all, I don't post much around these forums any more as I've moved somewhere else, but I do still lurk a bit. I saw there was a bye bye birdie forum so I figured I'd share the results of my audition. Got the cast list the other day and right on the top was my name next to Albert  . I'm psyched. I've worked with the company before (was Papa Ge in Once on this Island with them among other parts...rather different from Albert to say the least.
I'm really excited to play the part even though I really dislike the show...I'm a bit nervous as far as dancing as it's never really been my forte, but I've had to do dancing bits before and havn't had diffuculty so I figure I should be alright. I'm especially relieved to get the part as when I showed up at auditions, as I was there for the last group, some girls who had been there the whole time told me I was probably the favorite for Albert (usually new people dont get THE lead...and they were familiar with all the people from the past years), but I was also really sick for auditions. My singing wasn't so good because of this, but they noticed right away I was sick and pointed out to me to make me not be too nervous about it that they had seen me in many shows and 2 of the people had on the casting committee had actually directed me before. I owned the acting part though. Out of the 20 people in my audition group I was the only guy to get a reading for Albert and THEN the only person to get called back for Albert. I did good on the dancing too...so yeah it was mostly the singing that concerned me.
Ahem...I'm rambling...just thought I'd share the happy news. Also...any advice on playing albert?
