Good Audition Song

What would be the best audition song for Freddie?
klutzyk8ie

Something that shows off higher end of your range (Pity the Child goes wayyy up). I can't find my vocal sheet music for it, but my flute part goes to 6th space C, so I'm guessing a 2nd line C?

I'm partial to Bat Boy myself, but I'm not sure if any of those songs would make good audition pieces, so you might want to ignore this statement.

Gethsemene goes up to a high G above High C. Virginia from the civil war goes to a C# which is the flourish that you have to do in pity the child. Lol Jesus Christ Superstar and Civil war are the only shows besides Chess that I know that dare to ruin one's vocal chords.

Gethsemane is pretty good. You need to show off your rock tenor, and that you have a high end capable of sustaining that "C" at the end of "Pity the Child." (You need a rock tenor to play Freddie. His songs are really good material, but like most of Chess, it's very unforgiving if you don't get it right.) And be careful of your voice; Murray Head really wrecked his during the London run.

Who wants to live forever- Queen, or "we will rock you" but it is a queen song. Gives you the high rocker vocals.

I know. I will not try to the hit the note when I know I have to force it. on a good day I can hit it better than Murray. on a bad day I hit it like Zubin which is pretty bad. Goal. To hit it like Pascal or Casnoff.
