Going to Paris

I am going to Paris in april, for the first time in my life Very Happy So I wonder if anyone would recommend a show for me? I have only seen one, West-End-big musical (Les Miserables<3), but if there's anything good in Paris in the entertainment branch I would love to know Wink Not looking for musicals shows only, but anything worth watching Smile

Musical theatre isn't too big in Paris, but I think there's a production of Lion King playing at the moment--I saw ads for the upcoming Roi Lion all over the Métro this summer.

You must go see the Follies Bergere in Monmartre!

"Spring Awakening" is coming to Paris in late 2009!

Hmm.. for April,

see Follies Bregere, Le Roi Lion, and I'm not sure when it's closing but Avenue Q is a great one.

I was there in April. Everyone there (except maybe for wicked old people) will speak English to you.

no, I meant at the french lyrics in the shows.. Lion King, for example, will I be able to enjoy it, even though I maybe don't understand a word?
Catherine

Hey, I'm going to Paris in April too! Just for a weekend though...

Well, if you know the shows very well then you will probably love it! Most theatres in non-English speaking countries have some translation audio companion, but I would never want to do that, because then you don't get to enjoy the performance, because you are listening to the Broadway show being recorded.
soph-les-mis

I agree with you, musicaltheatrefan, about the audio translation. Well, I don't know the shows you have mentioned here that much, but even so I guess that I will have a nice evening even so.. =) If Les Misérables or Phantom was showing in Paris at that time, it would have been different; those I know by heart Wink

Catherine, when in Paris are you going? Are you going to see any shows? Smile
