Going to CATS in Gothenburgh autumn 2006? Traveltips!

I posted this as a reply elsewhere but throught I'd share... ALWAYS look up info yourself as well, this is merelysnippets of info quickly located online!

For flights from the London area: Try Ryanair, or Scandinavian Airlines or British Airlines or Fly Me. Ryanair and Flyme operates with flights from Stanstead. The others from Heathrow or Gatwick. BMI flies from Manchester and I think Sterling does as well. Double check online.

From Germany we have several good flights, including RyanAir from Frankfurt to City Airport - the City Airport is the 2nd one, the larger one is Landvetter International (Flight code GOT for that one!). Out of Eurpoe visitors will probably arrive from there. Both airports operates shuttles and taxi cabs - taxis are expensive and buses are about 60 - 100 kronor - maximum 10 pounds or 10 euro).

From Norway and Denmark I recommend trains as they will stop almost on the doorstep of the hotels and Downtown Gothenburgh!

Staying in Gothenburgh: We have a large number of FINE hotels right downtown and no less then ten minutes easy stroll to the opera house. And YES YES YES, we do speak english almost everywhere! If you call to make reservations they'll chat away instantly:

Hotell Opera has soem deals with RyanAir!!!

Hotell Eggers, have sub-site sin english ofcourse!

Hotel Robinson is also wall to wall with the rest of them!

In Gothenburgh you have lots of trams and busses that'll take you everywhere, but most of the entertainment, restaurants, shopping, theatres etc is located right in the center of town so it's walking distance and very easy to get around. We're not named "Little London" for nothing. *grins* We're also a bit of a shopping Mekka so you'll have lots of fun with various shops and specialty places!

CATS tickets are bought via: http://www.opera.se and yes, they do bookings over phone or via the web. I HIGHLY recommend on the sides of the lower balcony or downstairs from row 5 and back. There are plenty of pictures and information of the opera house on their website.

The Stagedoor is VERY roomy and have seats and sofas to sit in. Probably one of the BEST stagedoor areas I have ever seen!

Oh, and then there is me ofcourse - a whole tourist attraction in itself eh? *grins*
