Godspell Audition in a week

In about a week, i have an audition for a community theatre production of Godspell, and i'm trying to find a good song to sing. They don't want anything from Godspell, and i don't want to do anything from the local high school spring musicals as i'm sure a lot of the teens auditioning will sing from those (Les Mis, Wizard Of Oz, A Funny Thing...Forum, Oklahoma, Jospeh and the Amazing...).

Personal Discription:
18 yrs old
brunette
medium height (5'3")
soprano w/ wide range (can comfortably sing high A and G below middle C)
I tend to have a childish sounding voice (think Amy in Little Women, but not as annoying), but when i focus, i can make it more mature (kind of like Susan Egan's version of Belle) and can also go operatic. I can belt, but don't have a strong range yet, as far as that goes.

Are there any songs that you could recommend, and what part should i go for?

since schwartz is so predictable (still love him!) i would sing something else's of his for the godspell audition. how about spread a little sunshine from pippin? its goes from a middle C up to a D (4th line in stave) which i love belting...(i'm doing fastrada from pippin right now) but thats my suggestion!

would "Just Around the Riverbend" from Pocahontas work? It's by Stephen Schwartz, and it's easily in my range (both belting and head voice)

I just finished directing Godspell. Definitley know which song you want in the show and pick something with the same feel. I would think Bless the Lord would be a good pick for your "type".

How about Ta ke Me or Leave Me from Rent. Something from Wicked mught be good as well.

Good Luck!
