Glinda's Intro to No One Mourns the Wicked notes?

Just wondering if any of you guys could help here. When Glinda sings her first solo in No One Mourns the Wicked, what are the highest notes she sings? If you can help by linking to sheet music online (the vocal selections book doesn't include this solo) please do.

Thanks in advance!

It's a high A. She sings that note two or three times (it's two on the disc, but I think she might sing it a third time in the actual show) in that intro, then goes up to the A one more time later in the number (at "she died alone"). I don't remember if she ever goes that high again after that, but I do know that high A is her highest note in the whole show.

She sings a top "E" in Thanks goodness.

What note does meg sing? I know it's higher than all the others but it's not clear unless you know the key.... it's the tonic note of the scale.... but i just don't know what key it is...

It's a C actually.

I have the score at home. I am in work at the moment, so obviously can't check. I will look when I get home, but I'm sure it's an E, right at the very end.

Yeah - thank goodness is an E or an F, but it's optional whether that note is sung - some Glindas don't sing it and take a lower (but still pretty high) one. I think that's the C you're talking about but I don't know for definite.

That's the end of Thank Goodness on the score. It's written as an A. But a lot of Glindas go up to the C - it's in F major, so an E wouldn't work.
nickhutson

Yes - she sings the C, a minor 3rd above the score qouted above.

Didn't Megan go up to an F, the same as the last note of POTO?
happyguava

I haven't heard any Glinda go up to an F. But I haven't heard every single performance! The note at the end of POTO is an E Smile
music is my life!!!

i think so, she sounds like she goes upto the tonic, so that'd work

btw, no offence but the last note in poto is an e, still pretty high but i thought i should say 4 fututre reference

Do you mean you have just the songs? or do you have all the other background music too?

if it's the score then it's got everything that was in the show!

maybe more...

I did audition prep for a girl who was up for Glinda in the west end a while back and she sent me a pdf of this part of the song - its not in the vocal selections book you can buy.
"By and by. Outlive the lie" top A's in bold.

I have the score, vocal piano, for the whole show.

I just checked and I was wrong, can't be an E cuse TG is in F! Must be a C, it sounds really high though

wow! it's gotta take strength to get that note strong and cut across the theatre!

You are way too lucky! I have all the songs, but I want all the background stuff too. I hope that some day (probably in the distant, distant, far distant future) The vocal/piano full show score is released for all to enjoy! they did it for grease and annie, but I'd rather have Wicked!

Megan Hilty sometimes sung an F6 at the end of Thank Goodness.

She also sometimes sung (Kristin too) an E6 at the end of No One Mourns the Wicked.
