Giselle CostumeOkay. So for the Ickies (awards ceremony at the university) all the people in our 400 class have assigned ourselves Disney Princesses (except a girl who will be Lumeire and a guy who will be Cogsworth) to dress up as! Fun!
Obviously, I've been assigned Giselle from Enchanted. (I don't think anyone's surprised.) Which is exciting, except now I can't do the thing where I style my hair the right way and wear the right colour, like I probably could for more stereotypical Princesses. So... what do I wear to dress up as Giselle?

You could use the most stereotypical costume she has in the show, her big wedding dress. Find the biggest hoop skirt you can find, and have at it.

I should add that I am poor and my budget is about $20.

Yessss...that changes things.
Can you/Do you who someone who can sew? That might make things easier budget-wise. Other than that I have no ideas, sorry

Make a dress out of curtains.
She makes two dresses in the movie.
Or you could wear the pink dress she has in the beginning animated sequence.

I like the idea about making your own dress out of curtains

Try going to some local thrift stores to look for cheap and normally over-sized wedding dresses or prom dresses that you can alter. I saw some at Goodwill the other day that would have been perfect for this sort of thing.

What? Don't you have little furry animals to help you with this sort of thing?
Could you get access and permission to borrow from a costume from a local theatre?
