Ghosts/Hauntings

Does anyone believe in this sort of stuff? Have you ever experienced it?

I have witnessed quite a few ghostly happenings in my life. Might sound crazy, but I totally believe in all of this!

In my room I have seen 3 seperate aparitions. A young motherly type woman, who hangs around when I'm sad, I've seen her twice standing over my bed. A little boy who likes to sit on my floor and look at me and laugh when I look at him. And an angry old man who stands on my bed and doesn't like when I come into my room. I've seen him a few times, and when I see him I don't sleep in my room that night.

When I was younger I used to have a 'friend', and my parents tell me they used to wake up in the middle of the night cause I was talking to her.

I've felt my grandma in my house a few times.

My friends and I once conjured up a spirit of an Iroquois indian.

And one night I was sleeping in my bed at camp, and something came flying through the window, and I got chills and I hid under my covers the rest of the night.

And the ghost that I swear is backstage at my school.

And it's kinda creepy cause recently I told my mom what had been going on in my room, and she told me she used to see things too. Weird.

Any stories?
Matthew

I contacted a spirit named Erik once who died at the age of 14 of suicide.
It was really intense.
He also said I was going to be the first to die of my friends.

Shocked WOAH. Thats pretty creepy.

Random things turn on in my house. I think its my Grandmother. It seems like things she'd do.

I've seen some sort of ghostish figure moving in the loft backstage at my old middle school.

when my neighbor died I thought I saw her ghost in my living room, and i saw the ghost of my cat when he died. Another time I woke up in my room and saw the ghost of what looked like my dad or uncle sending next to my bed but i think that one must of been a dream since they're both alive, sure felt real though. ghosts are creepy things

Also my dog is my great-grandmother reincarnated.
She responds to her name and winks at my sister and I.

This question intrigues me, and i don't know how to answer it.

On one hand i don't belive in ghosts, hauntings, and various forms of supernatural stuff. But, on the other hand, there are few people who claim that they have seen ghosts, without an apparent reason for profit to doubt them.

So, it is a dilemma. I can't say they are lying (and i mean no offense to anyone here), but my brain can't believe in Supernaturals.

This isn't as intense as you guys's, but it's my family's supernatural encounter.

My parents bought a house in their 20's when they got married. Weird things started happening.

They would be in the living room together all evening, then when they walked past the kitchen, the basement light would be on. The house had no timers or anything like that.

They had their wedding picture on a table next to the front door, and they would often find it turned facing the wall. For a while they assumed that the other person had bumped it, but after a while they realized that that doesn't just happen all the time for months. They told another couple about it, who thought it might be vibrations from the wooden porch against the other side of the wall. The boys jumped up and down on the porch while the girls stayed inside and watched, but it didn't move. They all went out to dinner together, and when they came home, it was facing the wall again.

It really got weird when my sister was born. After my parents put her to bed, they would be up watching TV or whatever when a toy ball would come rolling out of her bedroom and stop in the center of the living room floor. When they went to check on her, she would be fast asleep. And the really creepy thing is that neither of them could remember buying that ball or it being given to her by anyone else. As my sister got older and started to talk, she seemed to have a "friend" too, like I Love Lockstock's. It was supposedly an old lady named "Meemo." Great-grandma had just died so they thought maybe it was a fantasy thing where she was pretending that she was still there and that it was a child's name for "grandma," but my sister said no, it wasn't her. Eventually, my sister stopped talking about "Meemo," and everyone kind of forgot about the whole ghost idea.

But then my mom got pregnant again (FINALLY I arrive on the scene, lol), and they moved to a bigger house, the one I live in now. When they were moving in, the very first time my sister (now age four) walked inside, she pointed down the hall and said, "Meemo!" (The first time she had said anything about it in years.) It freaked my mother out and she told her that Meemo wasn't there. It was the last time it ever came up, and my sister doesn't remember anything about it now.

* * *

I did have my own really creepy experience, though. It was a dream, but I don't know how connected it may be to actual ghostly happenings. An elderly neighbor of mine died a few years ago. Last year, the week after my dog died, I dreamed that I was driving past that neighbor's house when I got a phone call from her. I asked if she was inside, and she just laughed kind of sadly and said "You know where I am." Then she said that her husband was in Heaven, and I had better be good because you only get one chance to see them again and you don't want to mess it up.

That's some freaky sh*t.

Just as an answer to all this. I don't know what people believe or what they don't belive. However, I am willing to accept that there are some mischivious 'spirits' out there.

Many years ago, whilst at secondary school, a colleague of mine got caught up in Ouja Boards. He and his friends decided that they would use Ouja Boards frequently. However, whenever John was about, the spirits would arrive and tell John that he would be dead by the time he was 15.

This freaked John out. He became a rebel, determined to 'do everything before he died' etc etc. Guess what? I'm gonna be 34 this year, as far as I know, John is still alive. He certainly graduated at the same time as the rest of us when he was close to his 16th birthday!

Apprently my house is haunted.

When I'm in bed, I can hear creaks on the stairs and sounds like doors are opening. I've also been in my room and in my kitchen when I felt the ghostly chill go through me.

I also once looked outside into next door's garden and saw these big oval eyes staring straight at me.

One of my friends mum is also a medium and she told me that my house is haunted by a lady and by a man who likes to watch me and my mum Shocked

But yes I am freaked out.......

He's alive with Jesus.

Ok mine isn't meant to be freaky. When I was younger, around 5 or so, I use to lay on the floor inbetween my room and my uncle's room to fall alseep. So Everytime I laid down there, there was the voice of a women that would sing me to sleep. The weird thing is that when I got older, by dad and brother had to dig up the backyard to build in our pool and found bones.

There's some creepy stories here! Shocked
I'm not totally sure if I believe in 'ghosts' so to speak...I'm kinda a see to believe girl. I think I believe in the possibility though, and I'm completely fascinated. I even watch those awful ghost programs they have late night on ITV2 d'oh! I'm always looking for pictures online...

I grew up in village called Kimbolton (I don't mind letting people know that, I don't live there anymore!), and there's a castle in it. The original castle on the site (which was covered in built over in the 1700s with a sandstone exterior) is the castle that Henry VIII sent his first wife Katherine of Aragon when he divorced from her. When she died I she was buried at Peterborough Cathedral about 20 miles away, but as far as I know, her time at Kimbolton wasn't all that happy and apparently she still haunts the castle.
The Castle is now a private school and my best friend's dad has taught there as long as I can remember. This often meant that my friend and I were able to wonder around the castle (the main part of which is still kept like the stately home the Dukes of Manchester turned it in to) when most of the staff and students had left.

Katherine is supposed to haunt this stair case

and this window (which would make more sense as this is one of the few remaining parts of the castle from the Tudor era when she lived there

I don't know if it was my over active 9 year old imagination, but I think I did see something on that staircase once - and my friend still claims she has a picture of a figure standing there. Might've been Katherine, might've been something else. It definitely felt like something was there. I know people who say they've seen figures by that window too.

I think I believe in atmospheres and energies...definitely.

Well there's my thoughts!
(I'm worried for you now Stephen.... Anxious )

And just before I go

And the room I did my first concerts in!! Mr. Green

Speaking of finding bones, my friend Josh was cleaning out his house because they were moving (this was the second house they lived in and they hadn't been there very long) and in the basement, they found a bag of women's clothes and bones in a secret spot in the wall. They called the police about it and the police didn't even care to investigate it! They just told him and his mother to dispose of the remains and the clothing. Weird...

After my grandfather died, my mother was alone in the living room one night playing cards on our computer around 3am because she couldn't sleep. In the house with her were my sister and my dad who were both sleeping. All of a sudden in her ear she heard a man's voice whisper "boo!" just like my grandfather used to do to try to "scare" us. She was freaked out because no one was behind her and my father is disabled and there is no way he could have done that to her and left the room without her seeing him. My mom never told my sister about it and a few days later my sister woke my mom up around 3 in the morning as well saying she had been in the living room on the computer when she felt a hand on her shoulder and someone behind her. Again only my mother, sister and father were in the house at the time.

This next one really freaks me out. Its more my neighbour's story then mine though. My neighbour Karen's mother had died about a year prior to this incident. Karen's niece Gia was only just about to be 2 years old so she didn't really know her great grandmother because she wasn't even a year old when she had passed away. Well when Gia would be playing she'd be talking to herself and sometimes she would just stop and look towards the door and say "Bye Grandma!". This went on for a few months and one day Gia and her cousin Alyssa were taking a walk (Alyssa lived around the corner from the grandmother's old house) and all of a sudden Gia stopped in front of the Grandmother's house (and there is no way Gia knew it was the Grandmother's house because she was too little to remember ever being there) and started waving and saying "Hi Grandma, hi Grandma". Alyssa got freaked out and asked what she was doing and Gia said "I'm waving to Grandma!"

Creepy.

I was bumbling around the net and found this http://www.ghostweb.com/rense.html which contains some links to the voice thingys of ghosts like in White Noise.

We have a theatre ghost! We call him The Phantom of the Audiotorium or La POTA. He does stuff like switch out/turn on the lights at random points. He also caught our curtain device on fire. He has done other stuff too, although I can't remember right now.

There is a college near me that has a haunted stage. The place was visited by traveling circus. One of the performers got away from the group at some point and hung himself in the building that now houses one of the stages. There was blood spilt on the floor that day, perhaps the suicide didn't go quite as planned...anyways the floor has been replaced, cleaned, buffed, and wood has been added...there is still a bloodstain on the stage.

My old country club was haunted. A lot of stuff happened there. For instance: one night the cieling started to leak and it turns out one of the upstairs bathrooms, which is off-limits, was over-flowing from the bath. What is creepy about this is that the upstairs pipes are not connected to each other, not connected to any water source, and not been in use for probably 50 years. Another time a waiter had just put away the dishes. He turned out the lights. There was a clanging suond. He turned the lights back on. All the dishes were back out.
