German Accent?Sorry, I don't know if this should be posted here on in social club...
I'm sure someone will abuse me because I've put it in both!
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Hi Everyone,
Sorry about this odd question, but I'm auditioning for a musical called Shout, about the life of Johnny O'Keefe, and his first wife was German, so we need to speak with a German accent.
Does anyone have any tips on how to sound German?
Some of the dialogue is;
"I know, I saw your act. I am Marianne, I am from Germany. I'm sorry, I do not speak very much English."
"Please may I say, I think you are a wonderful singer. You should be singing songs, not as Mr Jonny Ray, but as Mr Jonny O'Keefe."
"You have a very determined son. Already I have learned."
"Mrs O'Keefe, I am sorry I'm not from your country, so I don't eat as you do. I'm sorry I'm not from your religion, so I don't know grace. I'm sorry I don't rink alcohol. And I'm sorry you don't approve of my work. But I'm not sorry that I love your son and, if you and Mr O'Keefe have made him the way he is, I am very thank ful to you. But I ask you please... don't come za raw prawn with me."
As you can tell this is an Australian musical...
Any help would be appreciated! Thanks.
