This has nothing to do with the musical, but I wanted to share it anyway. I've always been a drama freak (naturally ), but I was unlucky to be in a high school where sports was a higher priority than anything else. Well, in the two years that the school had a football team, they never won a game, not unlike the Senators (yeah, I know the Senators were a baseball team, but just stay with me here.) So, the head football coach brings in his grandfather's Victrola and puts on the OBC record for Damn Yankees! and puts the needle on "Heart" to inspire them. Granted, they lost anyway, but I thought it was awesome that a member of the school's athletic department incorporated Broadway into sports. Anyway, just wanted to share it with you all.

That's adorable!

I'm lucky that my highschool values sports AND the arts. I mean, when the football team won state champs this year, there was a huge parade and pep rally and all sorts of parties and celebrations, which would never happen for the drama club, art club or choir, no matter what... but that's just football. We accept it. And it WAS a big deal.

Especially because he have quite a few football players in our choirs, at all levels!
