I'm going for the role of Fred Casely in my high school production of Chicago. I don't really know much about the musical show, just the movie. How is he usually played? And what more does he do, dance-wise?

Ulla Dance Again!

I really don't think he dances much... I just know that he's there with Roxie in the beginning (during 'And All That Jazz') but then gets shot. My memory's a bit rusty, so I'll have to get back to you about it... but I'm pretty sure he doesn't dance.

Fred is an ensemble role. He does his bit in ATJ, and then is in all the dance numbers. Then he is a big part of "The Trial."

Atleast that is how it's done on Broadway. Ensemble role.
