Fosca in Passion inspired by Emily Dickinson?So I was watching the Broadway video and I just noticed a striking similarity between Fosca and Emily Dickinson. Does anyone know if Lapine and Sondheim inspired the character from her? I mean, she’s like this eccentric recluse, and plus she’s always delivering these ponderous musings on death… oh and the flower imagery that surrounds the show.
And needless to say, the physical resemblance between Donna Murphy in the role and Emily Dickinson is uncanny…
